Worship

Worship at First Congregational Church of Berkeley is a time to celebrate God’s presence in our lives—from our first breath to our last. We do this heartily in music and movement, scripture and sermon, praying and reflecting. Through communion, we remember that Jesus was about love in community. As children, youth and adults are baptized we remember that God welcomes us all to the church. In worship, we acknowledge and encourage the deeply personal ministries—local and global—of our members.

Member or not, worship helps us peel away the week’s worries and listen to our hearts. Worship is a time of community when we hold one another in prayer, allow ourselves to be held and we grow in faith. Sermons remind us that God is beside and within us always. Even without asking we are forgiven, valued and loved. And we are called to live out our gratitude in our lives.

Some of those who find us are Christian, some aren’t. Some are rediscovering or reclaiming their faith as adults. Worshipping with us is the best way to understand the value of FCCB as a partner in a process that need not be lonely.
