Tinley Ireland
Lifesjournez Fellow
Tinley is a new staffer here at FCCB, working as the Lifesjournez Fellow on campus ministry programs. A California native, Tinley grew up in a tiny town halfway between Sacramento and Tahoe (Newcastle anyone?). Her interests include singing, tango, writing, playing around outside and, of course, spiritually nourishing activities!
Tinley graduated from UC Berkeley last year with a degree in Comparative Literature. Last year, she was involved with our campus group Progressive Students of Faith, and participated in the interfaith leadership project, our anti-torture ministry team (TEARS), and the Peace Not Prejudice week on campus. She also taught a service learning course on hunger in the Berkeley area, which was also sponsored by Progressive Students of Faith. Next fall, Tinley will return to UC Berkeley to pursue a Ph.D. in Italian Studies.
Tinley is so happy to be able to experience campus ministry from the other side of graduation and support students in their pursuits to make Berkeley and the greater community a more enriched, just, and peaceful place.
